Transitional rule for old tickets following the tariff adjustments of 9 December 2012
You can continue to use tickets for which the fares have not increased, i.e. Bicycle Day Tickets.
Expiry of old tickets
Any single trip, stripe and day tickets bought at the old tariff (of 11 December 2011) can still be used up until 31 March 2013, can be swapped for new tickets on payment of the difference or can be refunded by our service centres on payment of a 2 Euro processing fee:
- S-Bahn customer service centre, Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), Main Hall
- S-Bahn customer service centre, Ostbahnhof (East Station)
- MVG customer service centre, Marienplatz
- MVG customer service centre, Poccistrasse
- MVG customer service centre, Sendlinger Tor
After 31 March 2013, these tickets from the old tariff will no longer be valid. You will still be able to have tickets refunded as described above.
VAT rate for MVV tickets
All MVV fares include VAT at the discounted rate of 7% - in accordance with Section 12, Paragraph 2, Clause 10 of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG) 1967.
