Our rules on who or what you are permitted to travel with tell you who and what you are permitted to take with you free of charge.
Children under the age of 6 travel for free. You can always take as many as you like with you – provided you yourself are over 6.
Some IsarCards allow you to take children aged between 6 and 14 with you. If you have a valid weekly or monthly IsarCard, an IsarCard9Uhr or an IsarCardJob, you can take children aged between 6 and 14 with you free of charge Monday to Friday after 9 am, and at any time on non-working days. You can take as many of your own children and grandchildren with you as you like (ID required); otherwise there is a maximum limit of three children.
The MVV Group Day Tickets basically permit 5 adults to travel on the same ticket – with children counting as half an adult.?
Your dog travels free of charge – if you have a valid ticket.
Each additional dog requires a children’s ticket if not travelling in a basket or a bag.
The animal must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle in all vehicles and in S-Bahn (urban rail) and U-Bahn (underground) stations if it could be a risk to other passengers.
Attack dogs are excluded from travelling on vehicles.

You may take your bike with you on S-Bahn (urban rail) and U-Bahn (underground) trains, as well as on certain regional trains, but there is a charge.
However, you may only travel with your bike at certain times of the day. It is not permitted during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 6 am to 9 am
- Monday to Friday: 4 pm to 6 pm – not during school holidays
The prohibited times do not apply to the baggage carriages and multi-purpose sections on regional trains.

You may only take a tandem bike with you on S-Bahn (urban rail) trains (outside of the prohibited times) and in the baggage carriages and multi-purpose areas of regional trains. There is a charge for this service.
Bikes with tyres of under 20 inches may be transported free of charge, provided that the design of the mode of transport permits it, that the space is not needed for other passengers and that doing so does not impair safety. Staff will have the final say on each individual case.
You may also take fold-up bikes (provided they are folded up) and fairy cicles with tyres of under 12,5 inches with you on buses and trams . You don’t need to buy a ticket for these and the prohibited times do not apply to these. Staff will have the final say on each individual case.
