Airport-City connections
The S1 or S8 travels between the city centre and the airport at very regular and short intervals. S1 takes the route in direction Munich West and S8 travels in direction Munich East. On both lines, the journey between the airport and the main railway station takes just 40 minutes:

Further connections
For travellers coming from the North we recommend the MVV regional bus no. 635 every 20 minutes from Freising to the Airport. Bus no. 635 takes 20 minutes for the journey and runs every day non-stop from 3 am to 1 am.

Travellers starting off at the U6 (underground) stop Garching-Forschungszentrum to get to the Airport, take the MVV regional bus no. 690 (Monday to Saturday) to Neufahrn and change there to the S1.

Tickets

• With the › Single Day Ticket Entire Network or with the › Airport-City-Day-Ticket Single you can travel throughout the entire MVV area for a whole day – including a return trip to the Airport.
  
• The › Partner Day Ticket Entire Network or the › Airport-City-Day-Ticket Partner are valid for as many trips as you like for up to five adults throughout the entire MVV-network for the whole day.
  
• The › CityTourCard too, provides unlimited travel on all MVV means of transport. It includes a discount card that can be used at over 30 tourist attractions.
  
• For travellling to and from the Airport on different days we recommend the › Single Ticket oder › Stripe Ticket. From the city to the Airport you travel through 4 zones.
  
• As the owner of an IsarCard valid for 4 circles covering Munich’s inner district, you can extend your ticket’s range by purchasing a Single Ticket or Stripe Ticket. The additional ticket needs to be valid for a further 3 zones.
