Districts

Colours mean districts

All of Munich itself and several surrounding districts (Munich’s extended city district) form one zone, the inner district (Innenraum).. This zone is always white on all our maps.

The remaining region is divided into three further zones (coloured green, yellow and red on the tariff map). Together, these three zones, which surround Munich as concentric circles, form the outer district (Außenraum).

We use these terms for our Day Tickets.

With the Day Tickets you need to know about Munich XXL (München XXL), which consists of the white and the green zone. Together, the inner district and the outer district form the entire network (Gesamtnetz).

› Ticket Navigator

The Ticket Navigator calculates the fare for a one-way trip, a return trip, plus trips with Day Tickets or Season Tickets. In the suburban and underground train network (Schnellbahnnetz) you merely have to click on the U-Bahn (underground) or S-Bahn (suburban railway) station you want.
