Data protection

Thank you for visiting the homepage of MVV GmbH. We take the protection and privacy of your personal data very seriously. We adhere to the data protection regulations in force and guarantee that the data you send us is kept safe in accordance with the applicable data protection laws.

We only collect personal data if you submit this data voluntarily (e.g. when taking part in a sweepstake or placing an order via our MVV Online Shop). Personal data includes information such as e-mail addresses, names, addresses and telephone numbers. The personal data we receive is not passed on to third parties, except when this becomes necessary in order to carry out the purpose for which this data was sent to us. The data is used solely for the purpose for which it was intended, unless otherwise stipulated in the following. We also guarantee that your personal data will not be used for advertising purposes.

You have the right to request and receive information about any and all stored data relating to your person, and under certain preconditions you also have the right to have this data amended, blocked and deleted.

This website uses technology developed by etracker GmbH to collect and store data for marketing and optimisation purposes. This data may be used to create user profiles under a pseudonym. This may require using cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the website user’s internet browser. These cookies make it possible to recognise the internet browser.

Without the respective user’s explicit consent, the data collected using etracker technology is not used to identify the person visiting the website, nor is the personal data linked to the pseudonym profile in any way. You can object to the collecting and storing of data (effective immediately) at any time.

If you delete cookies in your browser settings, the objection cookie will also be deleted. In order to deactivate the collecting and storing of data, you must once again object to it.

Below you will find a list of special regulations that apply to certain services and offers provided by MVV GmbH. By using these services or offers, you (i.e. the user) explicitly consent to your data being used as follows:

1. Shop

MVV GmbH has the right to process, store and use customer data sent to us when the customer places an order, so that we can process that order. By placing the order, the user gives his/her explicit consent to this use of data.

2. Suggestions

Data sent to MVV GmbH by the user when he/she makes a suggestion or files a complaint is rendered anonymous and then stored and assessed in order for us to process the suggestion/complaint and for quality improvement purposes. As far as the suggestion or complaint will be forwarded to the transport company to answer or for clarification of the facts, the transmitted personal data will also be disclosed. By sending the message, the user gives his/her explicit consent to this use of data.

To provide protection against spam, the MVV GmbH uses the reCAPTCHA service of Google Inc. ("Google"). In this context, your IP address and possibly other data Google may need for the reCAPTCHA service will be sent to Google. This data will be subject to the data privacy regulations of Google, which are different from ours. You will find detailed information on the data privacy regulations applicable to Google Captcha at www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

3. EFA homepage link

MVV GmbH reserves the right to use data sent in the framework of the “EFA Homepage Link” service for the company’s own marketing purposes. MVV GmbH pledges to use this data solely for purposes directly connected to the “EFA Homepage Link” service.

4. Sweepstakes and other one-off promotions

Please note that MVV GmbH does not pass on any personal user data to third parties, nor do we allow third parties to use this data. In case of deviating regulations, please observe the conditions for participation of the respective sweepstake/promotion.

The participant consents to having his/her e-mail address stored and used by MVV GmbH for statistical purposes. Should the participant win the draw, he/she gives MVV GmbH his/her explicit consent to publish his/her name and city of residence.

5. Newsletter subscription

MVV GmbH uses the data you send us solely for the purpose of mailing the newsletter. The data is not passed on to third parties. The data is rendered anonymous and used solely for the purpose of statistically analysing newsletter subscriptions. Once you unsubscribe from the newsletter, your data will be deleted.

6. MVV Flirt

MVV Flirt allows users to place a “wanted” ad that is then published on the homepage of the Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbundes (MVV).

Any and all data entered (including gender, time of flirt, transportation line, station/stop, message and e-mail address) will be published and stored on MVV Flirt for a period of 60 days, unless the user decides to delete the entry sooner by clicking on the “delete” link. After 60 days, our systems automatically delete the entire set of data.

Responses sent via MVV Flirt are not stored or read by MVV GmbH. We only count the number of responses sent in reply to individual messages. This is done to prevent spam, for example.

7. MVV Journey Planner

Our Journey Planner uses cookies. Cookies enable us to recognize and temporarily store information such as language settings or if our mobile Journey Planner is one of your preferred options. These cookies also optimize the way in which your public transportation enquiries are processed by our server infrastructure. We expressly assure that no personal data is collected or passed on to third parties. Internet browsers are usually automatically set to accept cookies. Users are free to change these settings at any time. Please check the help section of your internet browser for more information.

In order to improve the quality of the Journey Planner, MVV GmbH and/or our IT service provider generate anonymous user statistics. These statistics only serve to improve the product and do not contain any personal data.

8. Advertising and third-party cookies

Our website contains third-party advertising. In order to count the number of visits to our homepage and to make advertising space available, we also use systems developed by partners and service providers. These in turn may use similar technical procedures and cookies of their own in order to get a more exact count of the number of users visiting the website and to target their advertising more directly. No personal data (e.g. name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) is collected when banners are displayed.

ValueClick Deutschland GmbH, our partner responsible for delivering online advertising, monitors certain pages of our website in order to receive reports about website traffic, statistics, click-throughs of advertising and/or other activities on our website. In order to optimise the way in which advertising is displayed to the users, ValueClick Deutschland GmbH has the right to use cookies, web beacons and/or other technology in order to collect anonymised statistics about the users visiting our website and, for example, to reduce the number of times certain advertising is repeated, which is done for the benefit of the user and improves the quality of the advertising. Cookies are also used to create anonymised profiles. They serve the purpose of target group marketing, which means that the advertising displayed is adapted to the observed behaviour (websites visited, clicks, etc.). This procedure, also known as “behavioural targeting”, ensures that the advertising shown matches and is relevant to the web user’s interests. In addition, cookies are also used to show you content and advertising matching your interests. No personal data is collected or passed on. To find out more about how ValueClick Deutschland GmbH collects and uses information, please refer to the Privacy Policy of ValueClick Deutschland GmbH by visiting www.valueclick.de.

Internet browsers are often set to accept cookies. However, the user can deactivate the storing of cookies or change the browser’s settings so that the browser requests the user’s permission before accepting cookies. Please refer to your internet browser’s “Help” section for information on how to change these settings.

If you do not agree to the use of cookies as described above, you can switch off (and also switch on again) the storing and processing of your data. Switching off tracking cookies uses the same mechanism: a cookie known as an “opt-out cookie” is stored locally and prevents data from being collected in an anonymised manner. Should you at any time choose to delete all your cookies, please note that any opt-out cookies will also be lost and must be renewed if you wish to keep them.
