The buses in the MVV network districts form the backbone of public transport.
At certain times and in various rural regions, however, passenger demand is so low that regular scheduled bus services reach their economically viable limits.
To keep mobility options attractive in these cases (such as late evenings, weekends, or in very rural areas), the regular scheduled service is supplemented by on-demand transport (On-Demand Services = ODS) in the form of FLEXlinie or FLEX.
The advantage is that on-demand services only operate when and where there is actual passenger demand. The only requirement is that the trip request is registered in advance (via the MVV app or by phone).
Some MVV regional bus routes also have stops that are served only on request.
These request stops, as well as the options for registering your request, are indicated in the respective timetables.
