Connection journey

In case you decide spontaneously to continue travelling to a further destination which is not covered by your present ticket, you will need another  ticket to continue this trip.

This extension ticket has to be validated at the latest at the last station of the area of validity of your present ticket, but may be already validated at the beginning of the trip or when changing vehicle.

For holders of season tickets and subscriptions, there is a special connecting ticket to season tickets via ticket machines at S-Bahn/U-Bahn stations and as a HandyTicket for a single journey outside the area of validity of their season ticket.

• The extension ticket allows for the first time to buy a ticket where the already paid zones of the season tickets are taken into consideration.
• The extension ticket is valid for a single trip in direction of the final destination. Changing vehicles and interruption of trips are allowed but not return trips.
• The extension ticket is valid from the time of acquisition the following 3 hours.
• Children are not eligible to travel for free with the extension ticket.
• The extension ticket has to be purchased before reaching the limit of the area of validity  of the season ticket and is only valid in combination with the already paid season ticket.

Example with an existing monthly pass for zone M:

You have a monthly pass for zone M and would like to travel to the airport, which is in zone 5. You can add a connecting ticket for zones 1-5 (ticket machine) or a connecting ticket for 5 zones outside zone M (cell phone ticket) to the one-off journey to the airport if you have a valid monthly ticket for zone M.
