Children under the age of 6 travel for free. You can always take as many as you like with you – provided you yourself are over 6.
Some IsarCards allow you to take children aged between 6 and 14 with you. If you have a valid weekly or monthly IsarCard, an IsarCard9Uhr or an IsarCardJob, you can take children aged between 6 and 14 with you free of charge Monday to Friday after 9 am, and at any time on non-working days. You can take as many of your own children and grandchildren with you as you like (ID required); otherwise there is a maximum limit of three children.
The Group Day Tickets basically permit 5 adults to travel on the same ticket – with children counting as half an adult.
Dogs
Your dog travels free of charge – if you have a valid ticket.
Each additional dog requires a children’s ticket if not travelling in a basket or a bag.
The animal must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle in all vehicles and in S-Bahn (urban rail) and U-Bahn (underground) stations if it could be a risk to other passengers.
Attack dogs are excluded from travelling on vehicles.
You may take your bike with you on S-Bahn (urban rail) and U-Bahn (underground) trains, as well as on certain regional trains, but there is a charge. Please buy the Bycicle Day Ticket.
However, you may only travel with your bike at certain times of the day. It is not permitted during the following hours:
The prohibited times do not apply to the baggage carriages and multi-purpose sections on regional trains.
You may only take a tandem bike with you on S-Bahn (urban rail) trains (outside of the prohibited times) and in the baggage carriages and multi-purpose areas of regional trains. There is a charge for this service.
