The Summer Ticket, including mountain railways
Whether it’s the Garmisch-Classic or the Zugspitze: the three mountain railways included can be combined to create a circular route offering a variety of views, or simply a single ascent and descent. Depending on the ticket option, different mountain railways are included:

- At all ticket machines operated by S-Bahn München and DB within the MVV area
- At all Munich S-Bahn customer service centres (Munich Central Station, Ostbahnhof, Pasing, Airport, Freising, Dachau, Wolfratshausen, Starnberg Nord, Tutzing) and at all DB sales points within the MVV area
Please note: Tickets cannot be purchased from MVG ticket machines or at MVG customer service centres!

And you’ll automatically be doing your bit for the environment too. Compared to travelling by car, you can save up to 10 kg of CO₂ per person. A small contribution that can make a big difference.
Frequently asked questions about the MVV Garmisch Summer Ticket
To the Garmisch-Classic and Zugspitze areas: Take the S-Bahn to Munich Central Station or Munich Pasing. From there, take the RB6/RE61/RB60 (Werdenfelsbahn) trains towards Innsbruck/Mittenwald/Seefeld or Pfronten to Garmisch-Partenkirchen station. These services run at least hourly.
To reach the Garmisch Classic area, continue as follows: From Garmisch-Partenkirchen station, take the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn (BZB) to the Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn stop, or use the MVV bus 322.
To reach the Zugspitze area, continue as follows: From Garmisch-Partenkirchen station, take the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn (BZB) to the Zugspitze (Zugspitzplatt station).
The ticket includes a day pass for the entire MVV network (regional trains, S-Bahn and U-Bahn, trams, buses) as well as a mountain railway ticket for the selected area. The return journey must be made on the same day.
Please note: When you purchase the MVV Garmisch Summer Ticket from a ticket machine, at the S-Bahn customer centre or at DB ticket offices, you will receive a voucher for the mountain railway ticket. This voucher must be exchanged for the mountain railway ticket at the relevant valley station.

The MVV Garmisch Summer Ticket for Garmisch-Classic includes the Alpspitzbahn, Hochalmbahn and Kreuzeckbahn mountain railways.
The MVV Garmisch Summer Ticket for the Zugspitze includes the rack railway, the glacier railway and the Zugspitze cable car.
