FLEX and FLEXlinie operate on a book-a-ride basis

MVV’s on-demand services offer flexible travel, in some cases without fixed routes or timetables. Passengers can book their journey conveniently via an app or by phone, and the vehicle only runs when required. This improves connections to remote locations, reduces empty runs and is therefore both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
Buses in the MVV districts form the backbone of local transport.
However, at certain times and in some rural areas, demand is so low that a regular scheduled service is not economically viable.
To ensure that services remain attractive – for example, late in the evening, at weekends or in very rural areas – the MVV supplements regular services with on-demand services such as the FLEXlinie or FLEX. These only run if a journey is booked in advance via the MVV app or by telephone.
