The new feature allows users to view carpooling opportunities directly in the MVV app and the MVV travel information service. This makes travelling with MVV more convenient and environmentally friendly.

Users can now see at a glance which carpooling opportunities are available. The combined display of public transport and carpooling options makes planning easier, for example:

  • from your own location to the carpool meeting point
  • from the carpool drop-off point to the destination

This makes travel planning easier and more flexible.

One interface – many providers of shared journeys in the MVV

In the Mitanand funding project, a standardised, transferable connection between public transport and carpool providers was developed in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich, fahrgemeinschaft.de GmbH and goFLUX Mobility GmbH. This is based on the GTFS interface, which is widely used in public transport.

The new interface will initially be used in the MVV map view and will later be integrated into the routing system. The project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport as part of mFUND.

Carpool providers who wish to make their offers visible via the MVV interface can contact us directly to set up a connection.
