MVV integration
Since May 2024, the BergBus has been fully integrated into the MVV network. MVV fares apply, and passenger information is available via the usual MVV channels. The Deutschlandticket is also valid.
Booking
Seat reservations are not compulsory but are strongly recommended as capacity is limited.
Bookings can be made via:
- MVV app
- MVV information online at: mvv-auskunft.de
Important
As the buses travel on the motorway, standing room is not permitted. Every passenger therefore requires a seat.

Background
Following the successful launch of the ‘Bergbus’ pilot project by the Munich & Oberland Alpine Club in 2021, the Munich City Council commissioned the Mobility Department to develop a solution for the long-term operation and continuation of the service. In a working group led by MVV GmbH, the Mobility Department, the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport (StMB), the Munich & Oberland Alpine Club, and the districts of Miesbach and Ostallgäu developed a concept for the new service, its financing and its integration into regular bus services.
By making the service a permanent fixture, the Munich BergBus will continue to offer a sustainable way of travelling from Munich to the mountains in the years to come. Furthermore, an expansion of the existing service is not ruled out.
