The 24th MVV City Rally goes live on 31 July – explore the city and get solving the puzzles!

With the 24th MVV City Rally, the Munich Transport and Fare Association (MVV) is once again offering two exciting puzzle walks through Munich, just in time for the summer holidays. This time, the tours take in the districts of Alt-Schwabing and Obermenzing.

The two rallies invite you to discover Munich at your own pace. You’ll learn interesting facts about the history of the two neighbourhoods, whilst there are questions to answer at various points along the route.

Alt-Schwabing: From a farming village to a trendy neighbourhood

The district is characterised by its eventful history: once a village on the outskirts of Munich, later home to Baroque summer residences, and in the 1950s and 60s a trendy hangout. In the streets between the bustling Münchner Freiheit and the quiet corners around the former village church of St Sylvester, you can discover traces of every era.

A trip to Obermenzing takes you in search of traces of an ancient settlement: to the little church of St George, to Munich’s oldest pub and to farmsteads along the River Würm. The trip concludes on a charming note at the idyllically situated Blutenburg, once the Wittelsbach family’s hunting lodge.

The 24th MVV City Rally can be started directly on your mobile phone from 31 July 2026 at www.mvv-stadtrallye.de. Once you’ve entered your answers, you’ll see straight away whether they’re correct. The questionnaire and answers are also available to download as a PDF. Up-to-date information on getting there and back is available in the MVV app or at www.mvv-auskunft.de

In 2027, the MVV City Rally will celebrate its 25th anniversary!

In the summer of 2027, the questionnaires for the MVV City Rally will be handed out – just as they were 25 years ago – on a single day, to be announced, at the City Information desk in Munich City Hall. All participants with the correct answers will be entered into a prize draw for fantastic prizes.
